The Office of Admissions and Financial Aid is a central unit responsible for the administration of University scholarships and financial aid schemes.
Thanks to the generous donations from numerous donors, the University offers a number of scholarships, prizes and academic awards to give due recognition to students who have demonstrated academic excellence and outstanding performance in other areas, such as creativity, community services and leadership. Admission Scholarships are also offered to outstanding local and non-local undergraduate entrants. For details, please click here.
For further developing Hong Kong as a regional education hub, the Government has been offering HKSAR Government Scholarships to our students since the academic year 2008/09. In the academic year 2015/16, a total of 170 CUHK undergraduate and postgraduate students received the Scholarships. Another 634 students were bestowed the Talent Development Scholarship, Reaching Out Award and Endeavour Merit Award by the HKSAR Government.
The University and its constituent Colleges awarded over 8,800 individual scholarships and prizes (excluding honorary awards) totaling around HK$174 million, in the academic year 2015/16, to students in various disciplines of study.
The University also provides bursaries and loans to help eligible students with financial need.
The Office of Admissions and Financial Aid assists in the administration of the “Tertiary Student Finance Scheme - Publicly-funded Programmes” as well as “Non-means-tested Loan Schemes” which are offered by the Student Finance Office of the Working Family and Student Financial Assistance Agency of the Hong Kong SAR Government.
